Autumn and Winter Jewelry Trends to Watch Out For

The summer may have just started for many, but Autumn/Winter fashion and jewelry shows wrapped up in the first week of July, so jewelry lovers can already discover the trends they will probably be embracing in the upcoming season. From chains to statement pieces, there were many eye-catching designs donned by models like Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Leon Dame. If you are currently updating your costume or fine jewelry collection, the following trends may inspire you.

Big Statement Pieces
It’s all about making your presence felt when it comes to this year’s Autumn/Winter collections. Models at Virgil Abloh’s Off-White (including Candice Swanepoal, Joan Smalls, and Amber Valetta) strutted their stuff in elegant monochrome ball gowns with extra-large chain designs and spherical earrings in yellow gold and ceramic. Indeed, ceramic, glass, and recycled plastics have been major players during the world’s biggest fashion weeks, with models sporting large earrings and bracelets made exclusively from these materials.

Chained Up
Chains have been dominating the fashion jewelry scene since at least 2019 but now they are bigger than every - quite literally. Large square-linked chains are being worn alongside finer chains and pendant necklaces in urban chic style. Check out the latest chains in yellow gold by Dior and Versace and Timeless Pearly’s two-tone chains and Chanel’s chain chokers in metal, strass, and gold, black, and crystal. These chains look as good on a jewelry display as they do as part of a designer outfit. If you wish to show off beautiful jewelry pieces such as these, you can do so on a jewelry stand, embellished tray, or an open in-drawer closet. Jewelry stands range from minimalist chic to vintage and they are always worth investing in though in reality, any tall structure with tiers or structures from which to hang jewelry securely will do.

The Purity of Pearls
Pears have been seen recently on everyone from Harry Styles to Damiano David of Maneskin and they definitely made their presence felt at the Big Four fashion shows and currently, everyone’s talking about ‘the TikTok pearl necklace’, inspired on Vivienne Westwood’s iconic 1987 design and bearing three strands. To give pears a trendier, younger feel, pear them up with beads, pendant chains, and fine chains. War it over a turtleneck sweater in the winter to jazz up an otherwise minimalist look.

Colorful Sapphires
Sapphires have been in vogue ever since Katherine Middleton began sporting her beautiful engagement ring (once belonging to Princess Diana) but today, sapphires are being seen in multi-colored designs, since this stone can be found in pink, blue, yellow, and green. For inspiration, have a look at Tous’ multicolored sapphire bracelet, Stone and Strand’s rainbow sapphire ring, and Shane Co.’s lively multicolored sapphire and diamond ring.

It’s an exciting time to start rebuilding your costume or fine jewelry collection, with many current trends taking their cue from the past. Colorful sapphires, simple pears, chain necklaces and bracelets, and XXL pieces are just a few items you may decide to bring home. Whatever designs you choose, make sure to display so that you can appreciate their shine and sparkle even when you’re not wearing them.
