An S number on the label of a wool fabric shows the fineness of the wool fiber (measured in micrometers) used in apparel production.
Fiber fineness is one of the factors determining the quality and performance of a wool product and it's also an important marketing device.
The S numbers may be used on products of 100 % wool and on these of at least 45 % wool.

Example of eco-sustainable business model
Six hundred fewer tons of plastic in the environment in 2011: this is the green result that Benetton Group will achieve by introducing innovative, lightweight liquid wood clothes hangers – 100% biodegradable and recyclable – in place of the plastic hangers usually used to display garments. The eco-hangers, developed in partnership with the Fraunhofer-Institut für Chemische Technologie in Pfinztal-Berghausen (Germany), will gradually replace their plastic predecessors throughout the worldwide network of Benetton stores.

Fashion, music and dance merged into an exciting spectacle - The contest for young designers "Richmart Innovation" during the International Fashion Forum – Ruse 2010 was held on April 23 at the City Theatre on the beautiful Danube city of Ruse.
The winner, Nikolai Bozhilov from the National Academy of Art with the project "Recycling Fashion" received the grand prize of Academy of Fashion "Golden Needle 2010" - a unique sculpture by the famous jeweler Angelo Krassin.
